thanks for the replies guys, shortly after i switched on the lights this morning the male must have beaten the female (who had been constantly looking after the eggs) she was hiding in the corner of the tank and swam away frantically when the male went anywhere near her!
i moved the male into another tank and the female is now back looking after the eggs, have a few more white ones this morning but id say a good 70% are fertile at least so im gonna keep my fingers crossed and hope that i can manage to raise at least a few of them, deformities or not
