are they really all that hard to take care of ??
 
buying them really smal 1" or so is iffy, but if u buy a larger one 3"+ ur a bit safer.
 
they are very delicate when compared to regular dempseys, but not that fragile when compared to things like f0 discus or altums
 
When purchasing these fish, expect to buy 6 or more. The most healthy out of the batch will look the best. Dont expect to buy one EBJD and expect it to look like some you see online as a good representation of an EBJD.
 
I have 5 of them..They aren't that hard at all...
 
with EBJDs, it is like a hit or miss.
they THRIVE, or they die....
 
trying to get an established specimen, rather than a tiny one out of many at the LFS also helps
