Nice, my little guy has really deep blues but sometimes displays a golden color on his sides. Still eating like a champ and active he just is not growing.
My EBJD grow rate quite fast, they are barely in my care for 2 weeks and they all almost double in size, bought them all around 1 ~ 1.5 inch, now the smallest one is 1.5 in and the biggest one abit over 2 inches, I feed them Omega Cichlid small pellet and bloodworm every other day (I don't want them to get spoil with bloodworm so I'll try to feed them more with pellets 2 times a day and they are in grow out tank so I can easy do 75% ~ 100% water change every other day)Nice, my little guy has really deep blues but sometimes displays a golden color on his sides. If you have time and extra tanks then you can try to breed them, it's a long process cause it's a chain selected breed, or you can just buy or order a bunch of them and 1 year later you will have a sea of blue![]()
I have been breeding them for over 2 years, on generation 3. If you want quick growth feed beef heart daily. May have to cut Into smaller pieces but as they grow feed 1/2 cubes they absolutey devour it, or go with home raised feeders, guppies, ect. Here are some pics.I'd run. Any I've seen have turned out weird shaped, irregular etc; that's if they even survive.
However I also agree with the posters mentioning private sellers, I.e. captive bred vs. farmed, the difference in fish produced between the two is absolutely noticeable in other types anyway.
