Hello; Just saw this. The head medical correspondent of NBC, Dr. Nancy Snyderman, has apparently broken a mandatory quarantine. She was part of a crew recently returned from Africa according to the report. I think a cameraman from that crew is infected with ebola. She has, apparently, been seen out and about in a car with other people before the 21 days are up. I know what my thoughts are but will not post them.

yep I saw that earlier today. she needed to have the convenience of going out to eat.
and this is the functional IQ of people who could have our lives in their hands
:-/
but hey, she apologized.

Hello; If I recall, police in Dallas were stationed outside a contaminated apartment in which they forced several people to stay for days?

different state, different "management" of known risks. there are No required, or standardized, OR common sense protocols- much less adequate ones.

the reasoning of head of our CDC:
"........Frieden insisted that a mandatory travel ban would not be effective in countering the disease, saying a ban would only make the epidemic worse in Africa.
“If we isolate these countries what’s not going to happen is disease staying there,” he said. “It’s going to spread more all over Africa and we’ll be at higher risk.”
(emphasis added by me)
that is the new math.

Hello; I know the analogy does not fit so well, but -- I have never been in a bar fight since I quit going into bars.

I admire those willing to go into Africa to help others and fight the disease. I still feel it should be pretty much a one way trip untill the outbreak is contained or a vaccine is developed. There apparently is still a lot of (over) confidence (Dare I say huburis) among the policy makers as to their ability to deal with travelers from the hot zones. Restricted travel or quarantine sites probably will not happen untill after too late to do much good.
