. . . . scuttlebutt floating around in Mexico is that the US created COVID 19 and planted it in China....it's all the fault of the US, and there is high alert for nuclear attack on the US in retaliation.

Well some folks will believe anything. We could have sent them incurable flesh eating necrotics, instead of this flu.

And how silly that we would make a new virus to ruin China, by killing off people they can't feed anyhow, just when we've made a deal to sell them billions in food they desperately need. (I guess we don't really want the money, because everyone knows that dead people don't eat.)

Then we only release it in one remote place, when we could have easily sent it to all their major cities by mail.
And we send them a virulent disease we don't already have a vaccine for in advance, while Americans are still in their country catching it?

Finally we send something that's not effective in killing off their army, as it mainly affects old sick people.

Then China would start a nuclear war they can't hope to win because of that.

What utter nonsense.

. . . Chinese population is susceptible to viral infections due to the depletion of selenium in the soil and thus the population in general . . .

We have too much selenium here in the San Joaquin Valley. It leaches out to the Kesterson Wildlife Refuge along with lots of Ag runoff. 1/4 of the nation's food comes from here. This sword cuts both ways.

hope everyone’s doing as well as possible considering....

at least we have a great hobby during our home QT...

Lots of time for tank maintenance....

only had 5 days off so far. Thankfully getting paid to stay home for now...

It certainly has given me time to tinker with how to do a water change most efficiently for me. I've tried a new method, realized it isn't worth the effort, went back to an old one I set aside, and now I'm able to drain 75 gallons in about a minute. I can only make my water changes more efficient in one place which I hopefully will during this virus fiasco.

you got a stout pump or 3” hose?

Nope. A pump that can pump 2,000 gallons a minute I think attached to a 1.5" hose or so.

Turns out it is rated at 4,250 gallons an hour.

What I do is I fill a 45 gallon trash can with water, put a cap full of prime, put this 295 gph pump in to move the water
drain the tank with the 4,250 gph pump, then pump the treated water from the trash can into the tank using the 295 gallon pump.

The part that takes the longest is filling the trash can now and I'm looking to get about a 1,000 gph pump or so to replace the 295 gph pump to make it even faster.

ive been limited by quantity of hot water (80g electric tank) and filling rate (one hose hooked up to a mix valve) .... gonna try and get the bigger tanks (over 100g) on a drip/drain system....vs on demand gas hot water heater in addition to the electric tank...

In a perfect world I could collect (2500g at least) and store rain water and use it.... anywho.... back to QT here.... should hear from Governor tm...

South Africa will effectively be under lockdown from midnight Thursday. Time to buy more nets, RO water for certain plants and wood for DIY projects.
