So they are finding new stuff every day.
Seems like pets are still indeterminate if they can transmit the virus or not or if they can get it. Looks like this dog in Hong Kong did get it, went thru quarantine and cleared to get out of quarantine, but died a few days later. Owner would not allow autopsy so don't know if said dog died from the virus or old age as it was an older dog.

That article is misleading. The dog did not test positive for COVID-19. The owner was in QT, the dog was away from the owner. There is no information about the dog having any co-morbidities before passing. Poms are very well known to suffer from high anxiety & heart disease. Did it have a heart condition that was exacerbated by the stress of being in a QT facility away from it's owner? These one sided articles are so damn dangerous as people are attempting to not only surrender their animals, but are requesting euthanasia out of fear.
Dogs & cats both can contract corona strains, in fact a corona virus is what causes the fatal FIP in cats. What we do not know, is if they can contract this particular strain. No known cases have been proven at this time.

I wasn't trying to say they can or can't. I was trying to bring to light that we really don't know either way. That we should take precautions especially if in a high risk group as me being a twice over cancer survivor in remission. I don't think I got that part of my message out.
