Ebony Catfish?

My LFS has 2 Ebony Catfish. For $64.98 ea they are about 7". I was wondering about them. Is that a good price? How big do they get?

I don't know...They look almost like a jurense but with out strips and no streamers.

Not really it is jet black and the only white on it is a little strip on its tail.

Is the strip on the top margin of the tail?

That's Hemibagrus wyckii. I never heard of it being labeled as an ebony catfish. They're known as crystal-eyed catfish. You'll be hard-pressed to find a meaner catfish. Grows to 27" and is destined for a one-fish-only tank. It'll kill everything else you put with it.
