I bought my 75 gallon tank 5 months ago and was relatively inexperienced with fish keeping. My LFS said an Eclipse catfish would be alright for a tank my size as long as i provided areas where it could hide during the day. He is now about 8 inches and can no longer fit under its rock (Three Blue Botia hide under it with no problem) and i was wondering what should i do. I do NOT want to kill this fish, at the same time its unfair for it to live in an aquarium unsuitable for it. Anyone with ideas i would greatly appreciate it.

That cat will max out at around 18" I use to have one. Yours should slow it's growth soon. Mine slowed at around 10", unfortunately mine was killed by an oscar when he was around 12" long. I would say that he's good for another 6 months to 1 year, but you will either need to upgrade then or think of a new home for him. Maybe even me??? Think you would ship him? JK. I fell in love with the one I had, maybe you will too and get him a bigger home. If you don't want a massive tank you don't have to get a 125 long for it to live in comfortably. it would probably be good in a tank with the dimensions of 36"Lx20"Wx12-16"H.
