2 sheets of glass underwater generate a mirror, if you look at the tank normally thorugh the front, the sides are mirrors. But of course they are not mirrors to the fish, they can see out of them. So can you if you look at the tank lengthwise.
I looked at the aro tank through the top with no cover, and on the patches of tank with no sand, there was no reflection at all, none, only the brown card underneath.
So this finding should conclusively prove that drop eye is at least not generated by bare bottom tanks. And if bare bottoms tanks is your thing, at least you don't have to worry about any fish staring at their reflection.

2 Questions though, firstly
Jumping
My Cabinet is of wooden structure completely housed so I have no concerns of him escaping however the lighting tubes are exposed would this be best to protect them and ig so how????
are these supended on a conopy or are they resting on the aquarium?
you could use a peice of a acrylic to cover the tubes, id feel uneasy about glass since its alot stiffer and impact may cause heavy injury and if the fish is big enough or hits right, may shatter the glass.
secondly,
Filtration
In a 200 US Gal Tank would a single external filter capable of 132 US Gal would this be ok if only the 27" Aro is in the tank.
that should work out fine, whats the gph rating on the filters?
Thanks Very Much
