I understand what your trying to say, it's just that your inconsiderate of the animal and it's best environment. I would guess your not any older than 16. When the animal is suppose to live 30 years old, and it dies at 15-20 thats not good.

obviously you don't understand. I'm saying that most brackish fish NEED brackish. But SOME won't be effected adversely. Alligator gars for example can live in brackish and fresh water without suffering unduly. ( I realize AG are found mainly in fresh water it was just an example.)

omg i dont see why it is soooo difficult keeping the frikkin animal under the right conditions. If everyone had the same mindset as you.....:screwy:

:wall:

Younglin, stop defending your science teacher. Your making your point seem less valid every time you post.

A lot of you guys are being arrogant, don't deny it. You are really being unfair and are not reading into Younglin's posts.

For starters Gymnothorax polyuranodon can live in freshwater. While it does best in brackish and even full salt water. It CAN live in freshwater. While I agree it should be in brackish conditions, and its unfair to be in pure fresh, especially when it matures.

But, all you guys want to do is prove yourselves right, and you are unnecessarily putting someone down. There is an art to debate that does NOT involve insulting someone like you people do. It is unprofessional and makes MFK look bad.

questions are answered might as well close the thread before it gets worse

:iagree:

This has just become redundant. Might as well close the thread.

Snook can live in salt fresh and brackish at all sizes for as long as they want. I a fish can live in one type can't they live in it forever just fine but that's just what I know about the fish were I live.

I couldn't agree more. Yes if a fish does better in brackish then those are the typical conditions you want to keep it in, but if it CAN live in fresh then it's not like he's trying to kill the fish. Some of you all are being terrible. I've seen stuff like "when your science teacher kills the fish soon he should feel terrible". That's just sad, really. But what I find even better is that some of you that did the insulting didn't want to stop and didn't say "the thread should be closed" until this fine fellow said something.

Cut the kid some slack. He's not even the one keeping the eel even if he is defending his teacher.
