sorry to say... probably no eel would live for it's life nicely in a 12 gallon... upgrade to at least 30 gallon, better 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, 180, 190, 200. etc, etc, etc!!!!!!!!!!
i would love to get an eel for my 75 once i get my rockwork done how i want it. but i dont know how my puffers would do with an eel, and i dont really want my damsels or clownfish i have to get eaten if they cross paths with it while its hungry
oh those damsels and eventually the clowns will become food... the puffers would be safe... it depends on the size and the species too. If it was a dragon eel... that'd be havoc!
haha yeah i will pass on the eel until i move and can save up for another 75ish or an upgrade for my current 75 and then make that a species tank and get an eel for it sounds like a plan
for a first eel i would sa a snowflake bc they arent incredibly aggressive. but they are morays so dont trust them with really tiny fish or any shrimp. but you should wait until you have atleast a 55 for that. an engineer goby also looks quite like an eel but needs a deep sand bed and a 40g min
