eel like fish for a 12gal nanocube ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
as for you ryeguy a jawfish is always cool. a yasha goby looks realy cool, if you feel like spending a little $$$ you can get a semi onyx true perc clownfish. neon gobies are delightful to watch. but really the jawfish is the coolest imo

No offence, but i would not put an eel that can grow to a foot in length, into 12 gallon tank ;)

no offense taken but mine do fine had them for 5 and a half years did this small setup under recommendation of Dr. Marco Lichtenberger and from other moray eel experts who said it was fine but only by experts thats why I worded it the way I did.

well im debateing setting up a 40gal breeder for a snowflake

dont know yet

after going to my lfs i found the sulution (LAWN MOWER BLENNY :) :) :) )

Hey well now my stock Is

1 ocellaris clown
1 fire fish

Can I add

1 yellow head jawfish
1 yellow watchmen goby

I wouldn't do the jawfish in a 12 gallon only because they make such a huge mess with what they do excavating there house in the substrate but the other's will be fine.

I would just put a huge bristleworm in there.
It would be epic.

What do you mean huge mess? Should it be better with a cc bedding ?

jawfish's natural behavior is to move around the substrate to make a living space for themselves and can really mess up your substrate in the tank. I would steer clear of crushed coral it can harm and cut delicate reef fish which you want in the tank. small sugar sized aragonite sand is fine even if it has some granules too.

ok well i realy want a jaw fish so i gotta find out what to do

if you where going to have a jawfish in a 12 what whould you do ?
i mean if its not a smart idea at all i guess i will stay away and get a fish that dosnt mess with the sandbed

does that mean no pistol shrimp/ goby pair either :(

my whole plans in my reef seam like crap

the tank is alway looking like crap and im sick of it lol
