i feed my fish, raw market shrime, freeze dry krill, bloodworms, oyster meat, algae waffers, brine shrimp pellets, frozen brine shrimp, green sea weed, tropical fish 'crisps', and guppies pond snails from the pond during the summer. dont know how much of that the eel gets but it'll get more when it goes to the pond.

I feed my other fish pellets/sticks and flakes. At night they get blood worms. Once everyone is sleeping, I throw another cube in for the eel. The last eel I bought was 6-7" and it still failed. The one I have now is 3 inches and is haging in their.

u might be doing water changes to often for the eel, they get stressed easy and need to be added to a well cycled tank and if ur changing water every 3-4 days the water might not have enough good bacteria for the eel to survive.

Well I added some filtration to the tank. My 85G now has an AC 110 and tow AC 70's. I did a water change today. I will let the tank sebttle for a week. My last eel is very active during the day. I know that's not a good thing. It has a ton of hides and everything else. I will see how it goes and in 2 weeks, if Mr Eel is ok, I will buy him his road kill friend. LOL(tire track)

I am not an eel expert per say but I have peacock eels and a tire track. My experience with the 2 is this....I have never seen my peacocks eat they are shy and hide a lot. Now I totally recommend the tire track!!! I love mine. He is so opposite of my peacocks. He eats like a pig, steals food out of my BP's mouth. He totally holds his own.

I feed my eel while everybody else is asleep. The leporinus is only about 3 inches long and is scared of everything. Oh ya everyone lives in a 85G tank.

I have a 8'' Leporinus in my 100G, and that's not even full grown. Same thing with the eel... I have a 9.5 incher in the same tank. It's fine for now, but as adults, they'll need a bigger tank.
