In my area fire eels are more common I've seen fire eels and tiretrack eels kept with other eels however when full grown some don't tolerate other large spiny eels

How big does a fire eel get? Got any?

Fire eels will get atleast 20plus inches in most home aquariums. It will get larger if good space is provided.

with a large enough tank I've seen some around 30" I currently have a 13" and a 7" one

oh mine are also in separate tanks because my afer knife was making my 7" one nervous so I'm planning on growing him out a little before he goes back

if you don't have a HUGE tank there are other varieties of spiny eels that stay smaller some fire eels get very big there's a video on youtube of a 5 footer

my 7" is always hiding except at feeding time but here is a video of the 13" one and the afer investigating him is the one my 7" didn't like

what do you guys feed your eel? I've heard some people feed earthworms.. my zig zag loves blood worms and shrimp, suppose to get a pea cock and a fire eel today if they come in on shipment,

You can feed what most do small earthworm, shrimp according to size of the Fire Eel.
