I collected these two YOY eelpout last week and still do well in 10gal (just for temporary). Took some frozen krill last night. One of the guys also ate a minnow but won't touch the kulhi loaches....Still thriving without a chiller.

suprising. we have them up here in n. maine and they're a scavenger that usually eats anything. i know in the summer when the temps are up they retreat to the coldest, deepest parts of the lake and don't feed much. maybe they don't need to eat as much because of the warm tank temps? i know in the winter they're very active and will eat almost anything! be aware these guys get big! maines record i believe is around 30lbs! in warmer water they probably wont grow that big. in maine they call burbot, cusk. very good eating fish also. we catch a ton of them in the winter. I've brought some home froze solid. put them in the sink, once they thaw, they'll start swimming again! cusk are tough as nails!Feeding them are very challenging! Been starving them few times but they won't take pellets or anything but only chopped earthworms and minnows. Funny thing is that they don't touch any kulhi loaches or that CAE but will gladly eat a minnow that is larger than them. I also tried to feed them frozen bloodworms and chopped krill but they don't eat that much. Other than that, they are still thriving and healthy.
