Eels for a 75 gallon predator tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hello samtoney45 :)
we'll fire eels are an awesome eel to keep, but yes they will out grow your 75 gallon and will need a 120 gallon if kept alone and a 180 gallon if kept with other fish or fire eels :) what fish are you gonna add with you eel?

I was going to add some larger cichlids, 6 silver dollars, geophagus, and an ornate bichir, (Which I will also likely upgrade.)

That's nice :) i would say a 5X2X1.5 or a 6X2X1.5 aquarium is the best sizes as it provides them all with enough space to get away from each other :)

There kind of predator fish, but not really... some convict cichlids will be nice in your upcoming aquarium tho :)

Thanks! I'll get that when I need to upgrade. How big will they be when I must upgrade? Also I will definitely look into convict cichlids! :)

You will have to be careful of mixing due to feeding behavior of the species.

Silver Dollars can be ravenous feeders and large Cichlid can out compete the FIRE Eel and Ornate Bichir.

Dont worry I know this. I have come to the conclusion that if need be I will have to spot feed the eel and bichir
