Which eel should I put with my african cichlids in a 120 there are some small ones and some 4-5 inch ones in my tank but which eel should I put in that they wont kill?

Any ideas? Thanks

I have a Mastacembelus plagiostoma from lake Tanganyika, he gets along fine with my african cichlids. There is also another eel from lake Tanganyika, Mastacembelus elipsifer.

The other day there were M. elipsifer on aquabid

You can find M. plagiostoma & M. elipsifer on aquabid right now.

M. elipsifer gets to 18" I believe, there isnt a whole lot of info about M. plagiostoma but mine is 10-12" and has been that size for 7 months.

on segrest farms they have them and my brother works at feeders supply so I think im gonna try to get one ordered thats the M. plagiostoma but if I cant does anyone know of any good petshops in or around louisville ky that sell either type that can live with my africans?

I have had tire track eels in with my africans for 2 years. I slowly acclimated them to the 7.5 PH that I run for my Malawi Cichlids. It comes from the tap that way. The only problem I have ever had was getting the food past the cichlids too them.

If anyone was wondering I have had a fire eel about 13 inches with my african cichlids in a 120 for a week or two but the only thing was that i had to take the fish out of my 120 when i first put the eel in and hes been fine/ Just wanted to share that incase anyone was wondering the same thing.
