Yeah that might be a problem then. Your other option would be to do something like that after the tank has been dark for a while and the fish are asleep since spiny eels are nocturnal, thats what I did when my fish were smaller and able to fit into the bottle.
yeah i turn and leave the light off for a bit then throw a bunch of blood worms, ghost shrimp ect in there, not to many though cause i dnt want to give them too much protein or anything like that.
