lol omg that pike must think it found the biggest worm in the world
well i'm not sure fire eels look better i think but i've seen some nice tire track eels to but which is less picky or do they pretty much eat the same foods
also it would go with a 1jack dempsy 1jaguar 2 firemouths
1 mayan and mabye a salvini cichlid

my fire eel is out more often, but my tiretrack eel is out when food is to be had, another thing to think about, the tiretrack will catch and eat live fish, the fire eel doesnt, but will eat ghost shrimp for some reason, this is the case with my eels at least... the point is, if the cichlids have fry, the tiretrack would be more likely to eat them

really i thought they were equally predatory but if thats true i'm starting to lean tords tire track eels
but which gets bigger they both get like 3 feet right but which would have a smaller bio load the tank will have lots of filtration but it will be well stocked i thought fire eels get fatter am i wrong

I believe tiretracks max out at about 24" while fire eels get closer to 36".

hmm i thinkin tire track eel but fires look so nice

says who??

my eel only comes out once a day if that to eat and all i have is an oscar and a jaguar

he sits and burrows through my gravel and then come out to eat when all the rest of my fish are slleping!!

get a fire eel

This was my experience too. I had a tire track. He held up fine, the cichlids held up fine, my tank didn't hold up too well lol. He would burrow through the gravel knocking over anything i had stacked. What a pain he was. :-)
