Eels

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm not really familiar with the loaches except the kuhli coz they get small. The oloaches might stress the eels. I wouldn't recommend the kuhli, or they might be fishfood for the other fishes that you mentioned. The goby is brackish and if ever you might convert it to fresh, you might also shorten its lifespan.

this is my idea:

A. 1 Fire/Tiretrack eel
Any bichirs species
Dragon Goby?
120g tank or above

B. The Spiny eels (Zebra, Zig zag yellow tail, Peacock)
Smaller Species of bichirs (senegal or albino version, delhezi, palmas etc) check http://www.polypterus.info/profiles.htm
Dragon Goby?
Ropefish
75g tank or above

Actually no,not really. not as hard as saltwater. If you wait a few minutes I can give you a whole thing on brackish tanks.I have kept a few.

i have never had a brackish fish tank before is it hard?

Yes, in my opinion (and my opinion only) because just like the saltwater fishes, you have to buy the marine salt, and you must balance the salinity of the water so you should buy the ph tester.

Keeping brackish is not that difficult. I kept one for 2 1/2 years just for Dragon Gobies. It's a PITA but not really difficult :D

Yes,you do need marine salt and you do need to have a ph tester.but number 1,most freshwater fish tank owners(including me)already have a ph tester. Though the salinity is the main thing you should be concerned about. It cant be to salty, but nor can it be saltless. How big is your tank?If larger than 30+ gallons, you should have two filters running on each side. Im also assuming you have a heater(hopefully).I also highly reccomend that you buy a hyrometer. I wouldn't let the salinity get lower than 1.002 and no higher than 1.008(even that may be a little high). Anywhere between those should be okay.Never use freshwater aquarium salt for a substitute for regular salt. Marine salt only!and also don't use your average table salt.Oh yeah, make sure you heater can be used in salt and freshwater. The dragon goby should be fine, and I have heard stories of brackish zig zag eels living happily in brackish. I don't know you tank size, but other fish that you can put in a brackish aquarium would be as follows: Silver scats, mollies, green scats, siamese tigerfish, columbian sharks, glassfish, four eyed fish, archerfish, monos, freshwater morays, knight gobies, bumble bee gobys, figure eight puffers, giant spotted puffers, panther gobys, freshwater flounder, needlefish, feshwater atlantic rays, chromides, and I have heard stories of bonnethead sharks going into brackish water. PM me for even more information.
