Effects of lower PH on AC's?

go with argonite crushed coral i use it in almost all my tanks, its a ***** rinsing it out though, helps with ph and a couple other things

Stick with the sand and add a filter bag full of crushed coral to the filter, the crushed coral is most effective when water is running over it. If you use crushed coral as a substrate then make sure you use an under gravel filter so that it will buffer your pH. That is the best way to buffer your water without using addatives.

Hey James, so you think i should stick with my non-buffered sand, that's in there already, and just add the crushed coral? I wasn't sure which sand you meant.

I'm running two AC 70's on the tank, should I throw a media bag full of crushed coral in both filters, or would one help?

I would do both, You are prolly using silica sand which is fine, but if you added crushed coral to the filters it would buffer the pH and keep it more steady.

I agree adding the crushed coral in the filters is a gerat idea. I never would have thought about that
