Egemen's Photos !

Looks good!
Here’s the tricks I’ve learned/been taught:
- Do it when it’s dark out and the tank lights are on
- Best when fish are in the mid ground
- Turn flash on
- Wait for fish to come near the camera, it’s more focused that way
- Use Live Photo if you have an iPhone - you can pick the frame from it for the most clear one, and if the flash is on, the different exposures can cause dramatic effects.
Without flash:

Most important step: practice! Like anything else, it takes time to get good!

what a stunner!

Your Xiphophorus variatus are of high quality! Beautiful fish.
Focus on photos is excellent !
Thats what they are ? I bought them for 1$ each. They were classified as assorted platies. My country has cheap prices for fish...

I don’t use flashes because they scare my fish. I’m using an iPhone 13 camera, which isn’t too bad. I normally take pictures with only the fish tank light (at night).

These pics were not taken with my normal iPhone, but thought you might want to see them!

Beautiful Congo Tetras you got there ! The photos look way better than mine at least. Yeah I dont use flashes either I feel like it would be harmful for the fish in the long run.

I don’t think the flash is harmful, just scares them.
For funny photos, the winner is the parrot:

A truly prehistoric sight to behold. Also got some male Variatus Platies since my LFS ordered some, will post the pics when they are done acclimating because one male looks really good.
