Generally it is not found in the lighting dept. The eggcrate is made to fit many type 2x4 drop in lighting fixtures, which are installed in drop in accoustical ceilings. You will find it in the area where they stock accoustical ceiling tiles since this is what it's use is intended for.

For 20+ years, I've found it in the lighting department.

I hope you find them, Big Dogg. Home Depot's associate is not familiar with the term egg crate, but go to lighting department, and it's there
