so i have some FH that breed and i want to take the eggs that are currently on a broken clay pot. my guess is to submerse a plastic bag under water scoop it up and put the eggs in a new tank with the same water from there tank and a filter that was running on the tank they were laid in. what do the pro'z think ???????? please help if u no a better way.

I normally just take the pot out, and place it in my 5 gal q tank with an air stone, and some methylene blue. Flowers are normally pretty good parents, and can usually take care of them better than you. I usually give my Cichlids a few chances before I try to raise the fry myself. I'm assuming that they are eating the eggs, and if this is the case they will usually get it right after a few tries.

yeah the male almost killed the female the first time, and now i see him trying to get her away from them to eat them and i think he already ate some up. i went out to get bloodworms and i see a couple that were shaking before now missing. unless im paranoid, idk lol

sponge filter. not a power filter. they would get sucked into it. the tank water should suffice. dont expose them to air. -yup you have it about right

okay so i did it and they are free swimmers already afer i did it. so thank god it was just on time. or els my fx5 would of sucked them in. but yeah i will post pics of the fry. once a nice size.
