Egg Spots on the anal fin...

SO if there is an egg spot on my fish does it mean it's a male? My know-it-all brother thinks that females have only 1 spot and males have multiple. Anyone have any knowledge on the subject?

haha, there are these spots on my fishes anal fins. The Female thinks its an egg and tries to gather it in her mouth. While attempting to gather it the male will fertilize the eggs in her mouth. So i'm basically just wondering if females also have egg spots or if its only males that have them.

Look at this picture. The two little yellow dots on the fish's anal fin are called egg spots.

Please note the species too. Some Africans have spots in both species.
