I had nickel size holes and trust me I has small fish on one side and big fish on the other and my tank was still clear as hell I am telling you IME it does work from my experience had mine for a while and has never let me down

Plexiglass just works as well or even better then the eggcrate especially if your dividing monster fish. Eggcrate is quite weak as a large stingray or Arowana will knock it off easily and more likely get injured from it. For more water flow through the plexiglass just drill bigger holes...

That's what I did I had dime size holes in it and I had a 7" female Cuban knock down a egg create divider down and got to the other side before and killed a few small fish so plexi glass is the way to go

They both work, but you do have to admit that plexiglass looks better and is eaiser to clean after its made. Egg crate has great flow with no need for any drilling whereas plexi requires the extra work to get it going. Both are great and get the job done its just whatever you wish to go with.
