Eggfish Goldfish

Hi

i have got a bargain of 2 eggfish goldfish in the LFS and was lucky i had the space for them, they are at 4'' and look very healthy.

although i was confused on what colour/type it is, i can only guess its black eggfish but still confusing to know, its colour is dark olive with a phase of bright yellow when its under the aquarium light, its head is black and belly is white.

i have tried looking up this type but couldnt find any olive ones, all pics of black ones are completely black.

any suggestions appreciated, thanks

Even if you manage to find black ones, they'll eventually change. Black is the most unstable color.

Thanks, i guess im pretty lucky to have these in a very good bargain, LFS had all kinds of fancies before but this is the first time i see eggfish in there, more likely in this small town.

they are mostly rare and for most unsellable known as brilliant show fish.

The only one I ever know who owns eggfish is Ichthius. We're both members of GAB. The other is Marilynn (wendylove) also from GAB but I think she lost her only eggfish a few years ago.
