My blood parrot keeps on laying eggs almost every 2 weeks.
Always the same drill she gets dark spots all over her body (stress i imagine) she lays eggs on top of the skull but none of the fish are there fertilize the eggs.
tank is a 200 gallon with 1 oscar, 1 polleni, 4 blood parrots, 1 firemouth and 2 severums and i know i am overstocked but i have plenty of filtration and i do 30% water changes every other day.
the firemouth is a male
severums are a pair
1 male blood parrot and the rest females.

yes. Sorry since English is my second language i kinda get lost in translation.
can i stop this behavior or at least find a way to fertilize the eggs.
Hello; No I do not think she will stop laying eggs as long as she is healthy. Fish in our tanks spawn very often but most eggs get eaten. You fish will guard the eggs and try to keep the others away for a time which is why you get to see them is my guess.

As to getting them fertilized, that usually only takes a male of the same species. If I read your initial post correctly you have a male? If so then there is some sort of unusual problem. Could be a few things and I will make a few guesses.
First guess is the current male is too young or is sterile.
Second guess is the female is sterile.
Third guess depends on if the blood parrots are hybrids. I have not kept them so do not know. Hybrids can be sterile.

is my understanding that male blood parrots are sterile but i read somewhere that female parrots can cross with firemouths and severums but then again i am not sure if that is true.

There isn’t anything you can do to stop the eggs. A happy and healthy female should lay eggs. That is a good thing. The eggs will always be eaten so it’s a positive for the health of other fish as well. It’s possible a male that is compatible is not fertile or not interested. Good clean water, quality food are what matter most.

+1

If her aggression after the eggs are laid is an issue you can just take them out. I had to do that a couple times with a female of mine. Just be ready to get bit a couple times. Lol
