Eggs!!!

I'm still new to fish keeping and this is the first time i saw eggs. My hap in laying eggs on a flat rock and putting them in her mouth. My question is what got her pregnant?? Can they have eggs with no male and then they wait for a male to fert them?? I'm just curious if someone got her pregnant if so who because the tank mates are yellow lab, black convict,red devil, jaguar,pseudotropheus socolofi, and tropheops mumbo. She is chasing all the other fish away and keeping the convict and socolofi under the rock scared to come out. Any ideas what got her preg? All my fish are about 5 inch except the hap is around 7inch.

You saw her lay the eggs? Because haps don't coopulate, like livebearers do. The female lays the eggs and the male releases sperm, and they do it side by side over the same spot so that the eggs become fertilized. Her eggs are infertile. Take them away from her so she'll stop terrorizing her tankmates.

There's no reason for a male to release his sperm while swimming by her mouth. Giggity.

when i was waiting for a reply earlier i read something that says with the white spots on the african cichlids fin that the female might think its eggs and go to it and the male will release sperm. idk im new to it. I have no idea how they do it or who got her knocked up. So there is no chance of kids i guess?
