No, you're absolutely right. I completely forgot about that.

I guess if you could find a sexually mature male, you could make it happen. However, just remember that she will do this to her tank mates every time she's holding eggs. Also, introducing a male could kill her. There need to be at least 3 females per male, in order for his aggression to be spread out.

No one picks on her because she is the biggiest. I know the yellow lab, socolofi, and mumbo are male. They don't touch her even when she doesn't have eggs so im not sure how she could get hurt. The only one that sometimes will chase her is the black convict but im almost positive thats a female.

I don't think fish of different families can produce any offspring at all, or even mate at all. I'm 99.9% sure.

A lot of fish will produce eggs even in the absence of a male.

Females can and will go through the motions, even if a male isn't present to fertilize the eggs.
