she is swimming around the tank more..is it possable the same thing that happend this time could happen next time..? she is also digging all the rocks out from underneath my couple big rocks i have... and she's not eating any food?
 
It will take time for her to come around. She will dig pits as part of spawning. They dig false holes to confuse predators. It's possible that the male wasn't in the mood to spawn. I had a jd pair do that. The female was ready but when she wanted to lay the male ate the eggs and killed her. I say it's a 50/50 possibility.

OK.. It's been a few hour's now and she is doing great she's not that aggressive and she id freely swimming around male still kinda iff but moving in more closely.. can she mate with a male smaller than her??
 
Yes but it's possible if the male is smaller he isn't sexually mature yet.

to be honest i have the slights idea on how to sex jags. i will say this the males are typically more aggressive. my take some pics and post them in the ca sa cichlid section someone can sex them for you. i wouldnt want to take a stab at it and be completely wrong
