I have an Eheim 2080 and I think it's the worst filter ever. I have it on a little 54 gallon corner aquarium and it can't even keep it clean. Yesterday I did a 90 percent water change and let it run an hour and then did another 90 percent water change. The water looked alright after all that. The fish were fed 6 hours ago and there's still stuff floating in the water. I don't know if the dual intake makes it so there isn't enough suction or what. I guess I'm going to have to get a better cheaper filter. What a waste of 500 dollars. So much for Eheim quality. I do have an Eheim 2213 that seems to work decent, but the 2080 is by far the worst filter I've ever owned.

well duh. Read some reviews. Stick to the classic series

I read some reviews before I bought. I guess they were the wrong ones. I read the ones now that say stick to the classics. That's why I bought the 2213. So far it seems to be a decent filter, but no better than my non Eheim ones.

I don't overfeed. Was your point only to stop by and make an accusation without asking for enough information to make the accusation? What a waste of time you are.
If there is still food left in the water 6 hours after a feeding, the filter is not the problem. And I find it rather odd that you consider me a waste of time, yet you seem to believe that adding in meaningless jabs to your posts is a productive use of your time.

Well you ask no details about what was floating, so I felt it was a waste of time as I said. My wife fed them and said there was stuff in the water already. She fed pellets. It appears like the pellets were broken apart and the smal grains are stirring around. We fed flakes and the same issue was there. We have 4 other aquariums running currently and none of them have this issue. We feed similarly with them and the cloudiness in the water from feeding disappears in less than an hour. That leads me to believe its the filter.

Sorry you're having problems with the filter. I don't mean to be a jerk but did you double check the installation recommendations to make sure you didn't miss anything? Sometimes a loop or dip in any extra hose length will contribute to poor filter operation, as will any inline equipment.

Any other info you provide regarding the filter installation would be extremely helpful if you are interested in fixing the problem.

I actually prefer the Classic series because they are so simple.
