I've had an Eheim 2080 for several years now, I bought it used. It really is starting to give up despite a number of fixes. I think I just want to change it.
I saw the FX6 and was like...yes, that looks good...around the same size, maintenance looks easy and the flow rate is superb! I'm definitely going for that. BUT...then I investigated further...I couldn't believe that the media capacity is listed at 5.9L...that's less than HALF what I currently have in my Eheim 2080 (12L)!
So...I just wanted to know...is the FX6's 5.9L inclusive of the sponge around the outside, or is that not included? I was hoping to just move all my media over from the Eheim 2080 (putting it in filter bags for the Fluval). In the Eheim I use Substrat Pro (2 trays) and Eheim Mech (1 tray) as well as the disposable sponges.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
