EHEIM 2217 leaking

I had the same issue, tried everything. Re seat the O ring seal, silicon grease, teflon tape.. all cannot.. really out of ideas. And be careful too, many sharp edges inside the pump head housing. I scraped a chunk of my skin off my fingers. Finally decided to get a used 2217 filter so I can re-use all the accessories..
