did full cleaning last night with no luck. at no point was it sitting for a period of time. I turned it off and moved it from one tank to another and wouldn't start back up.KaiserSousay;3457703; said:Sure sounds like an impeller problem...turns fine under "no load" but slows??stops?? as load increases.
If it was me, I would strip the whole head..deep cleaning of the head/impeller..make sure impeller is not loose on the shaft and housing/cavity has no debris. I mean "Q" tip, tooth pick kind of cleaning.
After sitting dry for any period of time, you could have a hunk of dried goo in there.
All I can think of. HTH
I tried that today, I put the canister on an old end table so the canister was just below the bottom of the tank, top was in the middle of the tank. still couldn't get it to pump the water through unless I lowered the outlet hose by a foot or two.coolermaster;3458179; said:hmm...maybe the canister is too low from the top of your tank and creating more pressure than usual? maybe you could elevate the canister so the pressure will be lessened. I have my canister by 4.5ft from the top of my tank to the top my the canister but it can still push water out of the spraybar quite efficiently..
maybe your motor got weak or something?
bottom basket then Coarse filter pad on the bottom (replaced last night), and then a bunch of bio media (rinsed in tank water last night) top basket. Yes I'm using the Eheim tubing on the input and output. I cleaned the tubing last night, no other device is inline.deeda;3458681; said:Can you post what media you are using & how it is stacked in the filter? How old is the filter? Are you using the Eheim tubing on the input & output? Have you cleaned the tubing? Are there any other devices in-line?
Tcarswell has gone over the most common issues that cause problems so I too am at a bit of a loss as to the issue. Keep up posted on what you find wrong.
