Eheim 2229 wet dry issue

Hope everyone is doing fine.

Anyone ever just take that stupid wet dry tower mod off and plug the holes up? The small top on and the approximate 1.5" hole on bottom?

I can't get the thing to stop leaking.

No I haven't had to do that with mine.

I usually find that the o-rings are either worn, out of position or missing for the float section on this filter. Sometimes it takes me a couple tries to get them in the correct position because I've been in a hurry when cleaning the filter.
