So i was testing my 2262 before i set it up on my tank and i put the lid in my sink. Under the lid as i was draining the water i found this little thing. Not sure what it is, i didnt see it while assembling the filter. Does anyone know what it is? I want to make sure before i set it up on my tank to avoid any disasters. I thought it came out of the 2262 pump but i'm not sure. Its like 1/2 inch in diameter. Its grey so i think it goes somewhere as part of the assembly is grey. It has the number 1 on it. It looks like a small circular screw.

Please help!

P.S. Sorry about the bad pictures!

looks like the end stopper from eheim spray bar you get with the filter

The hosing, spray bar elbow everything is green so I dont know if that's it. Also it doesn't fit in the spray bar. However my spray bar is open on both ends so it might be possible. Hopefully someone can second that.

The spraybar plug is usually green. Is the plug solid or does it have a through hole? Is it flexible and rubbery or more solid and plastic like?

Check the bottom of the filter it might be one of the little foot things that raise it off the ground a fraction on and inch. I know the 2217 has these but they are actuactly rubber on that model, but the 2260/2262 are very different than the rest of the classics so its possible...

That's not it either. There is actually nothing like that at the bottom of these filters. It's just one big drum.

I double checked my 2260/2262 and no rubber feet.

It is always a possibility that the part was accidentally added to the box from the factory, though if you are missing the spray bar plug, maybe the wrong plug was grabbed.

I am assuming this is a brand new, never opened box of filter, correct?

you might be able to check the manual/pdf for the part breakdown, the #1 may be in the photo,or the listed parts
