I've never tried it but it should work as long as you can find the proper fittings.

Would rotating the pump outlet orientation help any or are you really tight on locating the filter properly?

I dont see why you could not use a bulkhead fitting through the lid and then put an elbow with a barb.

I am working on doing this same thing with my 2260 so i can fit it under my tank. I just need to find the right fittings for it.

My idea about the bulkhead fittings; this is the site I would use: http://flexpvc.com/cart/agora.cgi?product=BulkheadFittingsPolypropylene

Then get a angled bard threaded on one side. The hard part would be the drilling through the lid of the filter. Hole saw? Will be hard to keep straight with hole already in center, unless you plug it with a dowel or something before you drill. This would be my idea.

My tank sits close to the wall about 2 inches , I have plenty of room
under my cabinet 30in ,
I was more concern with the 1in quick-disconnect valve kinking at the top of the filter.
The 16/22 quick-disconnect valve at the bottom has plenty of room to hang.
I guess I could try to create a loop for the 1in hose intake.

I don't quite understand what you're saying. The intake (bottom of filter) is 25/34mm (1") so how would it kink at the top of the filter?

The output is 16/22mm (5/8") from the pump on top of the canister.

Here is a pic of my 2262 under my 220G tank. I rotated the pump so the output comes out the side instead of the top of the pump.

Thanks deeda
I thought the 1in was on top an the 5/8in on the bottom , Thanks for the pic that is the
way I will have to set it up.
I will need to sloop or loop the 5/8in just a bit so the quick-disconnect valve is under the tank .

I actually ran the output Q.D. valve from the end/rear of my tank so I can access it without fumbling under the tank. I don't have a pic of it but it has a Hydor ETH 300W heater inline after the Q.D. that hangs from the back rim of the tank.

I do have a 4" clearance behind my tank though as I also have 2 AC 110 filters on the tank.
