hi guys just wondering ...Is a eheim 2260 enough filtration for a 6x2.5ftx2.5ft tank? I got a feeling its not gonna cut though it says its for tanks up to 1500l

The Eheim will handle all of your biological filtration, depending on stocking levels ofcourse, if you fill it with bio media. You could also add another filter for mechanical filtration to keep the water particle free, which is what I would do.

Should be fine. If not add something with good mechanical. Try an FX5 maybe to work with it?

Instead of the 2260 for that sized tank, I would go with the 2262. Should have at least another 300-400 GPH on top of the 2260.

One 2260/2262 will handle your bio load for sure.

Its definitely adequte. The 2262 does have a lot more flow though, but around $100 more I think.

2260's Pump flow is 500 GPH. Filter flow may be between 300-400 GPH.
2262's Pump flow is 900 GPH. Filter flow may be between 500-700 GPH. A MFK'r tested his 2262 before cleaning it and it was down to just over 300 GPH.

ok thx for all the sound advice maybe i get a overhead filter and pump for the mechanicalfiltration bit . oh yea since the pump is mounted on the 2260 i think i screwed it on too tightly causing 2/4 of the screws to cross thread . now only 2of the 4 screws are intact . this causes the pump to run nosily due to vibrations . anyway i can remedy this? thx so much once again:) cheers

I hope its not buggered up too bad. I would unplug it and remove them and try it again carefully... Honestly I think this could be a very bad situation.
