Eheim 2262 leaking

Ragin look at the pjc it was leaking from the grey nut on the elbow.

Moved the motor back a bit and it stoped but started from the top of the elbow.

Are the little nubs i am pointing to supposed to be under the motor housing or infront. Seems to fit better infront

Where the gray fitting is screwed into the lid is just the kind of thing thread tape is made for.
 
If it is from the elbow fittings it is probably just a bit out of alignment. Might try screwing them down with the motor mount loose. Give them just a bit more than hand tight then tighten the motor mount again. Do not back the screws all the way out of the motor mount or you might not be able to line them back up after tightening the elbow fittings. If that fixes it it the plastic will likely "relax" a bit after it runs awhile and you will not see the problem again.

EDIT: Do this carefully you do not want to crack or strip anything.

Sorry I wasn't online when you posted but I see you have it fixed.

The small tabs on the pump mounting plate are supposed to be at the rear of the pump, unless Eheim has redesigned the plate. My filters only had one tab at the rear.

The elbow fitting that threads into the pump cover has an o-ring seal to make it water tight.

The elbow fitting that connects via a slip fit to the adapter fitting on the filter lid has an o-ring to make it water tight. The light gray nut just snugs the connection properly.

I find that loosening the pump mounting screws definitely makes it easier to assemble the elbow fitting to the filter lid and almost always fixed the leaking problem, as Chaz88 noted. I also do NOT tighten the pump mounting screws too tightly, just enough to keep the pump from wiggling around. Too tight will strip the threads or crack the plastic parts.
 
Best is to modify this canister by removing the pump and connect it with elbow by hose..you remove all vibrations away from canister and make it near silent :)

They are once they're set up correctly.
Jaws just got it, and this is his first time assembling it.

Jaws, try lubricating your o-rings. All of them. Then tighten fittings lightly with your fingers. Do not use excessive force, and no tools.
