Eheim 2262

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have the 2250 which is a downsized version and I will tell you this...you have to put your hand on it to know if if its running or not. These canisters hold a ton of media and are super quiet and efficient. Definitely a pro grade filter.

Eheim experts, is $200 a good deal for an opened, but new, eheim pro 3e 2078?

Sorry for a derail OP :)

If the 2078 is the same as the 2075 but electronic, then heck yeah it is.

Its a good deal for the filter but unless you want to vary flow rate during the time of the day(like planted aquariums), I would skip the "electronic" filters all together.

For $90 you can get a sunsun 4 stage canister with UV or for $250 you can get a FX5(see F1, sometimes I do recommend your filter to people ;) ) or stick with eheim classics...pending what size tank you are going to use it on...

I saw the deal and wonder what people think about it. I'm not looking to buy another filter any time soon...

See the other eheim 2078 thread to see why I dislike software driving otherwise very reliable hw...

It is good that the water continue to flow in that case, otherwise it might become an extinction event.

Software is not the potential issue on those circuit boards and you know that. A small violation in ESD process in the lab or such should be the concern. Hw people always try to point fingers at the software... lol

Spoken like a SW person ;)

but yes, putting electronics with close proximity to water/salt etc long term is not what I want in my filter...

ecoli, i was staying on el camino real 3-4 weeks ago on a support trip to loral space system (a long time customer) in palo alto, which i'm sure you know about. would like to check out your setup when i'm out there again...
