Eheim and Xmas Question.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have an eheim 2217 I love it and plan to pick up another the next time they are on sale. I also think there tank size rating verses what they actually can do are way off. mine says 90 gallon max but it has run my 120 buy itself with no amonia spikes for 2 years.

I have an Eheim Pro 3e 2078 that I'm unhappy with after 13 months of ownership. I started having problems with it after the last filter cleanup (stuck in programming mode) and although while it's still filtering away, the added cost of buying the electronic filter is useless.

I've already tried contacting their customer support; all I could find was a contact us form on their site after 98% of the links on their site jump to nothing but 404 errors, but I have not heard a thing from them at this point. It's supposed to have a 3 year warranty, but with no way to properly contact them (I'm in Canada), and it not being possible to tear the system down to send back (if that's the case if I ever get to speak to them) because I cannot be without the filtration, I'm pretty much screwed.

Right now I have an amber light blinking waste of $400 - avoid the electronic models.

It only took you 13 months to realize that electronics and water don't mix. LOL! Dumbest thing I ever saw in a filter. I think is was made for techies.

Well... I am a techie, so it waved it's fancy buttons & lights at me and I could not resist... of course it was only AFTER that I discovered the USB adapter was EXTRA ($100+) so I couldn't connect it to my computer unless I shelled out more money anyway (which I didn't)... lesson learned lol

maybe hooking it to your comp would make electronic fixes available?
