are eheim cannisters, not the professional series quiet and energy efficient like the hangon filters?

The Classic series? As far as im awaire they are one of the quietest on the market(gimme a week and i'll tell you) but they are definaley very energy efficent due to the simple make up of there design. No fancy purge systems, built in heater or UV filters which also means they are ultra reliable.At the end of the day simple is best. Lets face it how many other filter manufacturers are still producing the same filter as they did 10-15 years ago????? I just ordered a 2217 for my new 67g tank btw.

I find that the Ehimes are very quite even quieter then the HOB filters. I have one in the room here and I don't even know if its running unless I look for water ripples.

Dead-silent IME. I have yet to see someone complain about the Classic series; as DasArab mentioned - they still use the same design they did 15 years ago. Top class product.

The pros are very quiet but the classics are almost as quiet. The classics are the best bang for the buck as far as canisters are concerned IMO.

The Eheim Classic series:

5 thumbsup out of 4 possible
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I might go for a classic series in my bedroom. I need to try one of these things anyway LOL

:iagree:...The Eheim classics are great filters, i used to run a couple of 2217's
and they never caused any problems what so ever!
Very, very quiet too!

quiet base from expirience!

I'm not quite the huge Eheim fan that many others on MFK are....BUT I have used the classic sieries of canisters plenty of times and noise is definatly NOT one of thier flaws...

Lets face it how many other filter manufacturers are still producing the same filter as they did 10-15 years ago?????

Actully I can think of a dozen or more other filters that have remained unchanged as long or longer just off of the top of my head...not that it really maters.
