Lube with what?

I use regular Vaseline, plumbers o-ring grease or a silicone grease for potable water use. The Eheim o-rings are not pure rubber so Vaseline doesn't degrade them, at least it is recommended by Eheim to use without issues.

Wipe the grime off the o-rings with water and a damp rag. Check for nicks or tears in the o-rings. You only need to apply a light film of lube. I apply a dab to my finger and then slide the o-ring through my finger and thumb.

This is all that came with it. I need to fill up the media bag a lot more. How am I suppose to separate the media? Or do I just throw everything in the screen bag?

The round coco puff media in the bag looks like the Eheim Substrat Pro and it needs to remain in the bag for ease of cleaning and to prevent it from getting stuck in the pump or blocking the return lines. The small cylinder shape media looks like another bio-media, maybe AquaClear or Fluval. That media bag looks like the original one that comes with the filter. You can use an electrical zip/wire tie to keep it closed

The top lattice screen is obviously broken and I have not found a good glue to repair this part when it breaks. You may have to buy a new one unless someone has a good suggestion to fix it.

The o-ring around the top of the filter housing is supposed to be installed in the groove in the filter lid. Clean it like I suggested above, lube it lightly and install it in the filter lid. Do not use a sharp instrument to install it.

I don't see any mechanical media so you will need to purchase some, check my post #13 for media suggestions. Eheim suggests 5L of mechanical and 15L of bio-media but you can change these ratios depending on your needs.
