I have an eheim canister filter model number 2217 and the guy I got it from said it need some parts, he believed just a new impellar. So I ordered the impellar shaft, but is there another part I need? Also, is there anyway to figure out if I have all the parts for it?

Howdy,

Should look like this

thanks harleyk, the impellar shaft that I ordered does not seemed to be pictured, its really long (appr. 3") and white. Did I buy the wrong one?

It's pictured: 7438430 The shaft is white (ceramic). It's basically the axle for the impeller.

Thanks for your help! What are your thoughts on this filter? Is it worth spending this money on to revive?

Absolutely. I have a 19-year-old 2211 that's been running continuously since I bought it. The Classic Line from Eheim is built to last. The ceramic axle is actually the only part I've ever had to replace on an Eheim, and it was my own damn fault ... It broke in my own hands.

Thanks harley, you have truely been a help!

Go to: www.EHEIM.com and look up the model canister filter number you have. The website has illustrations of all their filters with parts numbers for ordering purposes. Good luck!

Thanks fuego, I have ordered what I think is the last necessary part, the impellar kit, to go with the shaft I already have, so lets hope this thing works! I dont think it has been used in years, but it looks like brand new!

I got the impellar kit in the mail today, I will be tinkering with it tonight. If all goes well I hope its up and running tonight or tomorrow!
