I'm huge eheim fan i have almost all equipment. But i'm thinking seachem matrix is beter than substrat pro. I stil use both. 12L Matrix for 2262 and substrat pro for professional 3 series and ecco series. Seachem is huge player for aquarium's with top quality stuff.
I run two 2262's. I had all ceramic media with a layer of nylon pot scrubbers on the bottom for years. Water quality was fine but clarity suffered. I replaced all the ceramics with chunks of various PPI of Poret foam several months ago. Water does even better now. I still have a couple of FX6 running that I filled two of the trays with Poret and they are doing good too.
