Both filters will work fine for your tank (at least with the HOBs in place). I prefer the fx5, but I am a cheap bastard and can't bring myself to spring for the eheims. nc_nutcase's suggestion of the pressurized pond filter and an external pump is a great one, you can match it up to get exactly the size filter and the speed pump you want.
