Mile High in Northern AZ, baby!~
I know there are thousands of shoppers here on MFK.
What better way of getting the right price, than with the thousands that know where to shop?

Only stipulation is it has to be "Brand New" or "NIB"

I have been looking for the lowest cost on:

EHEIM Pro III Thermofilter 2180
I know they do not come with Media,
so I am also looking for:

EHEIM Filter media set
, it contains:
1 Blue filter pad,
1 White filter pad,
8 Liters of Ehfisubstrat Pro, and
4 Liters of Ehfimech.

EHEIM Filter Pad set
, it contains:
1 Blue Filter Pad and 2 White Filter Pads.

Synth set
,it contains:
3 Eheim Synth fine filter pads

Looking for something in the So-Cal area for walk-in purchase
or
ANYWHERE online...

Please post in this thread

All help is greatly appreciated, and Thanks in advance...~BenO

Thanks Bob,
I checked on their site and it looks like they have the
2180 listed as a 2080 thermofilter.
From the research I have done, there isn't a 2080 with the built in 500W heater.
The heater makes it a 2180.
But that's why I called them and at 11AM Sat morning I got the machine, no contact, so I left a message, we'll see how long it takes them return my call...

SO!!

anybody else know of anywhere I might inquire???

I been to:
Drs Foster & Smith
PetSolutions
BigAl's online
E-Bay
Craigslist Monterey Bay

hell I asked Bing'd it

Personally I don't think you should get a thermofilter, better to keep the heater and filter separate in case the heater breaks so you don't have to replace a $400 filter. If you absolutely don't want the heater in the tank just pick up a inline heater.

kensfish is the only place I buy filters. Very good prices.

I agree with the above the heater in those things is not great and if it breaks it's a pain to replace. You are better off just getting the 2080.

I bought the 2080 off Ebay a few years back. It came with media and installation set 1 & 2. The seller was local so I made arrangements to pick up and save a few bucks. $300 for the whole deal.

So what is your opinion of this unit the 2080, What do you have in it as far as media, and would you buy another one?

The only problem I have is it is a little difficult getting the hose attachment to release from the top under the cabinet when doing maintenance. Mebbe if I had more room under there this would not be a problem.

I love this filter and it has given me no problems in I guess 4 years now. Moves a lot of water and is Eheim silent. I am using this in a 210G with a sump/ refugium also and have a very clear water collumn. The filters are easy to rinse and replace since the Pro III's are set up different from the ProII's that I have where you need to remove the trays to get to the blue foam.

I used the media set that came with the filter. It was the substrat pro and efhimech. Not sure of the amounts but it was a few boxes and bags if I remember right. It is easy enough for me to get you the amounts if you need them.
