Is the EHEIM Quick Vac Pro worth the time or money?

Not to me, but I did try this

Darn thing actually worked.
Was, like $15, with shipping.
Glad I didn`t spend more, as I hardly use it.
Seems just as easy to do a real cleaning once a week.

I've had and used both and hands down the eheim wins!! The little bag on the cheap vac would always fall off on me just as soon as it got a little full and dump back in the tank. To me the eheim is worth the money...

I would say the $50 bucks and invest in another filter ... these vacuum no matter how nicely design doesn't beat a full water change and a gravel syphon cleaners.

I tried one a few years ago and returned it immediately. The suction is weak. The wire mesh used to filter the return water catches some of the debris but has the curious effect of letting smaller particles through or grinding larger debris into small particles. Regardless of the cause, the result is a disconcerting cloud of filth emanating from the device.

I went back to using my Magnum 350 with micron filter for vacuuming without doing a water change.

i think it would work only for picking up big pieces of waste...

yep they are crap...especially if you have dirty fish, no suction at all and they clog very easily...dont let the eheim name fool you

Anyone have any more current reviews of this item? My Python doesn't get the bigger pieces and I end up pulling more sand than I care for. I have seen this at a local Petsmart and on their website (which has a lot of great reviews for it), but I would rather ask the experts.
