hmm if you wan to remove debris without water changes, and if you have a sump, you could try this method.

Attach the output of the gravel vac to the mechanical filter of the sump, like a filter pad. Vac the gravel. The debris would be siphon into the filter pad and at the end of the cleaning, replace filter pads.

Good thinking and thank you for the reply.

I have converted an older, worn out Magnum 350 so I can use it as a vac. But its cumbersome to drag out, hook up the hoses, etc...then clean it all up when I am done.

If the Eheim works, it would be really handy. Pull it out, vac quickly, rinse and put away.

The Eheim doesn't work nearly as well as a Magnum 350 with a micron cartridge. I returned the Eheim. The hang-on Magnum can also be used as a vacuum and has one less hose.

I know it's any old thread but...the opinion of the eheim quick vac still the same or has the product been improved?
